Two of the band spent 13 years living in New Orleans, Louisiana, while the other is from Kansas City – now all reside in London. Rhythm & Blue Martyn are a trio of highly skilled boot-scraping musicians. The band features some of the most in-demand, young improvisers on the London scene With a nod to ‘Sam Butera and the Witnesses’, Fraser & the Alibis channel the intensity and feel good effect of the swing and jive music of the dance hall era, combined with the intricacies and virtuosities of later jazz movements. Inspired by the big tenor sax sounds of Dexter Gordon and the screaming Hammond Organ of Jimmy Smith, the band play original tunes, deeply entrenched in the roots of the music. London based trio Fraser & the Alibis play the hippest in Bop, Blues and Boogaloo. Expect to hear timeless jazz standards from The Great American songbook, written by greats such as Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Rodgers & Hart.
